>> let's start out with a live look from storm tracker 4. in terms of lightning and any activity that we have seen is out of of the bay area. you can see the flashing lights on your screen. we are working up to dry conditions are right now but however, we may see changes within the next couple of days. we are holding on to seven days is fairfield and 60 degrees out the door in oakland. the temperatures are warm however, into the afternoon that when not be as warm as livermore was at a high of 102 degrees. 79 degrees will be your high today in oakland and mid 80s for redwood city. we have a red flag

drive time is 12 to 13 minutes. here is that foggy start of the golden gate bridge. >> today we will learn what caused a deadly limousine fire on the san mateo bridge. the fire claimed the lives of five women, including a bride-to-be. the limo ride was part of a bachlorette party last may. as we await new details into the investigation one bay area lawmaker is pushing for new limousine safety regulations. kron 4's justine waldman explains. >> this is how a wedding celebration ended for a group of friends. five of them died when the limo burst into flames. this left their families and grieving. >> months later the california highway safety patrol is ready to release what started the fire. they

that the legislation is set to be discussed on wednesday. and he would expect the governor to sign it and be in law by july of 2014. he wants to make sure that nothing like this happens again. >> truck drivers at the port of oakland are expected to strike today. this comes after drivers say they are unhappy with conditions at the port. in a letter to mayor jean quan, workers say they are forced to wait between six and seven hours for containers to transport-- during which they cannot leave their trucks unattended. drivers say that this causes a major setback into their driving day and a loss on revenue for the companies they work for. union leaders say workers are looking to get out of the port within an hour and if not-- they would like compensation for the extra time waiting for containers. >> ac transit workers have voted to reject a tentative contract agreement reached with management last week.

union officials say members of the amalgamated transit union local 192, which represents nearly 1,800 bus drivers, mechanics, dispatchers, clerical and other workers, voted saturday 576 against to 257 for the proposed contract, the tenative included a 9.5 percent raise and increased employee contributions to medical benefits, as well as improved health and safety provisions, the union's negotiating committee will meet soon to review next steps. >> the san francisco fire chief has now banned helmet cameras after footage of the asiana airline crash was posted online by a local newspaper. the video was captured by battalion chief mark johnson's helmet camera and was published in the san francisco chronicle. that led to questions about whether the department is liable in the death of a 16- year-old who survived the crash but was run over by a fire truck. at the time, the victim was covered with fire-retardant foam. police, the coroner and the national transportation safety board are reviewing the footage.

chief hayes-white said her 2009 ban on video cameras in facilities was meant to include fire scenes. critics say that restricting the use of helmet cameras shows a lack of transparency by the fire department. >> the california highway patrol is looking for a suspect vehicle and a driver in connection with a crash in san jose that left one pedestrian dead. it happened friday night at the corner of alum rock avenue and harriet avenue. the vehicle is described as a late model, full-sized ford pickup with oversized tires. c-h-p investigators say the vehicle is light in color.possibly with a redstripe down the hood. they also noted collision damage to either the right or left headlamp. >> authorities say a man has died after falling about 100 feet down a cliff in half moon bay. cal fire's battalion chief said the man sustained major injuries following yesterday afternoon's fall. the chief added the man

indicted today in south africa on a premeditated murder charged in the valentine's day slaying of his girlfriend, reeva steenkamp. pistorius stood in the dock of the pretoria courtroom and wiped away tears. he also held hands with his brother and sister. the trial date is set for march 3rd of next year. >> the united states and south korea have begun their annual joint military drills as tensions seem to be easing on the korean peninsula. north korea usually calls such drills a "rehearsal for invasion" but on sunday pyongyang agreed to talks on reuniting families separated by war. >> an elderly woman is lucky to be alive after an suv slams into petaluma home in the middle of the night. neighbors tell kron 4's alecia reid cars are always speeding on that street. >> it was allowed thloud. it wan

is a live look to the golden gate bridge, you should certainly drive with extra caution. a quick check from some of our traffic maps where seen all green on the roadway sensors. there are no delays. you are good to go for interstate 280. >> diplomats from the european union are gathering in brussels this morning. they are meeting to discuss possible actions in response to the crisis in egypt. the e-u is warning egyptian authorities that the people's calls for democracy and fundamental rights "cannot be disregarded, much less be washed away in blood." officials say nearly 900 people have died there since wednesday. >> congress split on cutting off aid to egypt in the u.s., members of congress are split over whether the u.s. should cut off military aid to egypt amid the spiraling violence there. democrats are generally supportive of president barack obama's approach. some republicans, including sen. john mccain, are calling for the elimination of military aid.

while other republicans, such as congressman peter king, are more hesitant. >> a man whose pickup was riddled with bullets by authorities after he was mistaken in a manhunt for a rogue former los angeles police officer has been paid $20,000 for damage to the vehicle. david perdue was on his way to a surfing outing in february when he was stopped by officers pursuing christopher dorner. perdue filed a lawsuit against torrance police, saying officers rammed his pickup and opened fire without justification. his lawyers claim he suffered head and spinal injuries. >> the campaign to oust san diego's embattled mayor is volunteers armed with clipboards and petitions fanned out through the city, hoping to collect thousands of signatures needed to authorize an election that could recall mayor bob filner. the mayor is facing more than a dozen sexual harassment allegations. the 70-year-old former congressman has resisted numerous calls to resign. filner is set to return to work this week after undergoing behavior therapy.

>> a 16 year-old surfer was attacked by a shark in hawaii. helicopters searched for sharks' are not long after the attack. witnesses say that the 16 year-old was surfing when an 8 ft. shark bit him. the teenager was airlifted to a hospital. the attack was the fourth in the last month and a ninth attack so far this year. >> the first civil lawsuit filed against penn state university over the child sex abuse scandal involving jerry sandusky has settled. that's according to attorney tom kline, who represents the individual known as sandusky victim number five. kline did not discuss further details about the settlement. kline says his client is the first to settle with the university in the case.

>> taking a look at wall street this morning. futures trading shows all three indexes in the positive this morning. investors are hoping to snap out of it's slump today. stocks fell friday, closing out the worst week of the year for the dow jones. and the second-worst week for the s and p 500.

here's a look at friday's closing numbers. the dow fell near 31 points. the nasdaq lost three points. and the s and p 500 lost five points. >> creditors face deadline in detroit bankruptcy case banks, bond insurers, employee pension systems and others who believe they are owed money by detroit are up against the clock to legally voice opposition to the largest municipal bankruptcy filing in u.s. history. a federal judge set monday as the eligibility objection deadline in the bankruptcy petition by detroit's state-appointed emergency manager kevin orr. it's one step in a process that could take months or years to complete if detroit is approved for bankruptcy protection. the city has until sept. 6 to file its responses. orr listed thousands of creditors, including individuals, in his july 18 bankruptcy petition. he's said detroit is insolvent and unable to pay some of its bills, including at least $18 billion in long-term debt. or stopped payment on $2.5 billion in debt in june.

>> jpmorgan investigated for china hiring the u.s. government is looking into whether jpmorgan chase hired the children of chinese officials to help it boost its business in china, according to the new york times. the times is citing a u.s. government document for details of the investigation. it says the bank hired the son of a former chinese banking regulator and the daughter of a chinese railway official. the times reports that the railway official was later detained on accusations of taking cash bribes in exchange for handing out government contracts. a jpmorgan securities filing earlier this month said the sec's enforcement division is seeking information about the bank's employment of some people in hong kong and its business relationships with some clients. jpmorgan says it is fully cooperating with regulators. >> washington already has the nation's highest state minimum wage at $9.19 an hour. now, there's a push in seattle, at least, to make it $15. that would mean fast food workers, retail clerks, baristas and other minimum wage workers would get what protesters demanded when they shut down a handful of city restaurants in may and others called for when they demonstrated nationwide in july.

investigator says the two planned to wed. the woman's family says 56- year-old randy alana is a liar. a reporter for the oakland tribune talked to alana at the santa rita jail, where he is being held on a parole violation. alana said that he met sandra coke two decades ago while she investigated a murder case. he denied harming her. coke's family said the two dated briefly 20 years ago, but he was under court order to stay away from the investigator. her sister tanya coke said alana is "lying and manipulating to serve his purposes." coke disappeared aug. 4 after saying she was meeting someone with information about her missing dog. >> hoping you recognize the sketch of a man who may have exposed himself to a child. kron four's philippe djegal gives us a description of the man. investigators are calling a person of interest. >> investigators at the

union city police department stated that they have been working on this case since july 26th. they stated that he may have been involved in other indecent exposure crimes. police stated that he is white, standing about 6 ft. tall and 200 lbs.. he is bald, or have short hair. he has been seen wearing a fisherman style hat. this is a photo of a car that he was seen driving. this is similar to way 19--selleck up. the tires also has black lambs. at this time investigators are not setting where this incident happened and what occurred but the detectives would like to speak to him as soon as possible. >> police are investigating a stabbing in antioch that left one man dead. and the victim's sister is speaking to kron 4.

police say the stabbing happened just before 8 p-m saturday night at the chevron gas station on the 32-hundred block of delta fair boulevard. police believe an argument broke out that lead to the stabbing. elena cendejas is mourning the loss of her her 49-year- old brother kann cendejas. she says her brother was homeless, and made camp behind the chevron station. >> he got into a fight with another homeless person. they hit him with a stick. the person came up from nine in september. i feel that the person killed my brother. i feel that this
